A holiday in Boulogne turns into an hilarious mishap for a group of Victorian aristocrats who are beset by an amorous grandee of Spain. The comedy takes off when a young English widow captures the fancy of a romantic Spanish nobleman. When she deceives the noble Spaniard into thinking that her husband is still alive, her suitor is only too willing to challenge almost anyone to a duel. It’s A Bunch of Amateurs by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman and readers may have seen the British comedy film in 2008 starring Burt Reynolds and Derek Jacobi.

Keen to boost his flagging career, a fading Hollywood action hero arrives in Stratford, England to play King Lear – only to find it is not the birthplace of the Bard, but a sleepy Suffolk village … and the cast are a bunch of amateurs trying to save their theatre from developers. His monstrous ego and insecurity are tested to the limit as the comedy escalates and acting worlds collide – will our action hero discover his inner Lear? Come along and find out!
