Harold Wood Foundation – Discussion on future of Library Building

Despite the heat and heavy traffic, the Harold Wood Foundation welcomed 128 members of the community to a public meeting at St Peters Church to discuss an exciting proposal to reopen Harold Wood library as a vibrant community hub.

The atmosphere was positive and enthusiastic as the Foundation outlined plans aimed at supporting the wellbeing of local residents. The proposed project would transform the former library into a multi-functional space for learning, support and connection.

The Foundation has submitted an application to have the building designated as an Asset of Community Value. A decision from the council is expected in July. The meeting was well supported by our local Harold Wood ward councillors, the headteacher of Harold Wood School and a representative from MP Julia Lopez’s office, reflecting strong community interest in preserving and revitalising this vital local space.
