The Council’s new housing development, the first of its kind in the borough to encourage independence for adults with learning disabilities, was officially opened by the Mayor of Havering.
Councillor Eagling opened Great Charter Close for adults with learning disabilities or autism to live as independently as possible, while still receiving support. The South Hornchurch development has four self-contained bungalows and four flats.
The council allocated the properties to residents whose needs were best suited to the supported accommodation.
The development is run and maintained by the council’s partner, Family Mosaic.
