Parents and residents are to be consulted on Havering Council’s plans to tackle dangerous parking outside schools. Please feel free to attend as per the schedule below.
All parents will be invited by their respective schools, all residents will be invited to their respective school and they will each receive an information pack. If you know of any specific groups that you feel would benefit from further meetings, could you please contact Peter Matthews who will make the specific arrangements.
From June, the council is set to become the first in the country to use Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) to prevent drivers stopping close to schools at dropping-off and picking-up times. Anyone breaching a PSPO will be fined £100, with the threat of criminal prosecution for those who offend three times or fail to pay up.

Steve Moore, Havering Council’s Head of Streetcare, said: “We believe the majority of parents and residents support the introduction of PSPOs outside schools where we know there is a problem with dangerous parking, and the need for us to get tough on the issue now before a tragedy occurs, but we look forward to discussing the plans and any concerns they may have further with them.”
