Ardleigh Green-Contraflow notification June 2016 (3)
TfL have written to residents and other stakeholders within an 800m radius of the A127 Ardleigh Green Bridge informing them of the upcoming Contra Flow which will be in place for the project. A copy of the letter that TfL have sent out can be found attached.
Some key points to note in the letter include:
The Ardleigh Green Bridge replacement project team are holding drop-in sessions to provide more information about the upcoming traffic arrangements on the following dates and locations:
- Saturday 2 July – Romford library – 10:30 – 15:30
- Wednesday 6 July – Gallows Corner Tesco’s – 12:00 – 15:00
- Monday 11 July – Ardleigh Green site office, Bryant Avenue, RM3 0AP (next to Gallows Corner McDonalds) – 18:00-21:00
*(TfL have also arranged a drop in session for Thursday 30 June – Gidea Park library – 14:30 to 19:00 although that’s not included within the letter)
The letter also sets out key upcoming dates for the project including:
- 23rd July when the A127 will be closed overnight from 20:00 until 08:00 the following day whilst the contra flow arrangement is put in place.
- 24th July the contra arrangement ( a single lane in each direction) will be introduced on the A127 meaning that the Essex-bound carriageway will close completely and two-way traffic will operate on the other side of the road
- Access from Bryant Avenue on to the A127 will be closed from 24 July 2016 until May 2017 while demolition and replacement of the eastern half of the bridge (the Essex-bound carriageway) takes place.
