We have received the following information from TFL
Work to demolish a section of the Ardleigh Green bridge during the weekend of 4-7 November could not be completed because we encountered unexpected complexities with the demolition. Transport for London, Network Rail and Hochtief (the contractor) decided to put the works on hold part-way through the weekend, to ensure the road and railway could be reopened on Monday morning and avoid delaying commuters.
The project team is now reviewing and re-planning the demolition, in discussion with Network Rail and other stakeholders. Some work will continue on site to replace the supports which hold the bridge up. These works will not affect the flow of traffic, and will not require any road closures in addition to the temporary traffic management currently in place.
We (TfL) will release details of the demolition plans as soon as we are able to.
