A local resident sent this story into us to alert residents to a potential scam.
A man called Matthew rang and said he was phoning regarding insulation in my loft that needed to be re- assessed. He said an appointment had been made to visit my property this afternoon. I said I wasn’t going to let them in my house as I didn’t know what he was talking about, at which point he put the phone down.
I did 1471 and the call received at 15.39 was from 01708 3***** which is strange being as he said he was based in Oxfordshire. Also, it is worrying because that is a Harold Wood number by the looks of it.
