Finally !!
I can’t begin to describe how happy I am about this.
We have been trying to get this sorted for such a long time. So long that Mick Hockley and I were even contemplating having a go at fixing it ourselves!
Have you ever noticed the non existent fencing of adjoining land along the stretch of the A12 from the golf course to the M25 Brook Street roundabout?
Well I am extremely pleased to announce that now with the help and support of Keith Prince GLA member and former Havering Mayor Cllr Wallace….
TFL under their duty of care have just agreed to make the area safe and secure.
The long section of dual carriageway that leads from Maylands Golf Course, Harold Hill to the M25 Brook Street roundabout runs alongside open greenland very close to the 345 acre Dagnam Park and Nature Reserve. As you know this area is absolutely abundant with wildlife, especially our precious deer.
The boundary fence along this section has been broken and in some parts missing for as far back as I can remember.
I have been trying to contact the right people to get this addressed but for some reason have been going round in circles.
Harold Hill Deer Aid are frequently called out to deer and other wildlife that have been hit by passing traffic on this busy road. The scenes Deer Aid have been faced with sometimes have been very distressing.
We have been extremely concerned for the safety of road users along with the deer and other wildlife.
This is a major achievement and we would like to thank everyone involved for their help and support.
Hopefully now it will make the area a lot safer for all, drivers/road users and local wildlife.
We know it won’t stop it 100% but anything we can do to make this very busy road safer has just got to be a good thing !
