The Council has launched its budget
consultation and some of the proposals
are going to hit us all in the pocket!
We urge Harold Wood residents to please
respond to the consultation to give your
views on! Some of the key proposals
include:
• 50% increase in the cost of hiring
football pitches in our parks.
• Car Park charging to be introduced
in Parks and charged at the same
amount as council car parks and on
street parking
• Parking charges to increase by 40%
with 1 hr going from £2.10 to £3
• Removal of the 50% discount if PCN
appeal is unsuccessful
• Increasing the number of controlled
parking zones as well as increasing
the cost of residents parking permits
• Reducing the level of street lighting
from midnight to 5am by turning down
the brightness.
• Increase garden waste and bulky
waste collection costs by 20%
• Fortnightly refuse collections for black
bag waste and recycling.
• Closure of some smaller libraries
• Cancel Xmas spending on trees and
lights in the borough.
