Save Harold Wood Library

The HRA/Labour run Council administration have issued a consultation paper that proposes that four libraries including Harold Wood are proposed for closure. Harold Wood Library has had over 30,000 visits in the year to March 2024 averaging 2000 or 3000 visits a month. We are very disappointed to see that our library is being considered for closure and as the local Councillors for the area, we see our library as being part of our community and is used by many residents and groups alike. Whilst we understand that the council need to make savings, this library could be saved and used as a multi-use building. We will fight to try and save our library and you can also help by responding to the consultation at the link below. The consultation closes on 2nd August and can be found at the following link and paper copies of the consultation will be available in the libraries shortly –

  1. Please rethink your plans to close Harold Wood library. I am a Grandparent who looks after her Granddaughter
The Wednesday and Friday baby and toddler groups are invaluable
We have a lovely group that regularly attend every week
We would all be very sad to see these get togethers come to an end
