TFL have provided an update on the forthcoming closure of Gallows Corner with a better map to see where the diversions are.
Attached below is a letter and diversion map that will be delivered to around 11,000 homes and businesses living in the area. TFL will also be contacting stakeholders such as schools, businesses, local emergency services and NHS trusts.

Further to this update, the TFL project manager has been contacted to get some further clarification around access to the retail park, Tesco’s and shops along A127 and the response is below:
There has been significant engagement with local businesses including meetings last week to discuss the impacts of the closure and the feasibility of the diversion routes for their business. Costain, the contractor for the project, has been engaging with businesses, and conducting face-to-face engagement throughout the run-up period to the closure. For the businesses between A127 and Bryant Avenue we are working at pace to establish an agreed position on deliveries. We have proposed more than one option. Most businesses are planning to continue to trade, without changes to operating hours throughout the closure. We are looking at providing business continuity messaging on our closure/diversion signage to let people know that businesses remain open as usual.
There are some pop-up engagement events planned over the next few weeks including at Gallows Retail Park where people can speak to us directly. For the most up to date information and travel advice please see our website here: https://tfl.gov.uk/gallows-corner
There will still be access via A12 Colchester Road, Whitelands Way and Bryant Avenue and back out the same way or to the A127 to access the businesses at this end, McDonalds, Topps Tiles, Tile Giant and the Pet Food Superstore. The closure points will deter any through traffic but can be passed to access local services. We will have traffic marshals on site at all times to help direct people who need some help.
Could “soft closure” and “hard closure” be clarified please as well as access to/from the retail park
